Open House at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel

The Academy of Art and Design, part of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, arose from the Basel School of Design at the end of the 1990s. Especially the Visual Communication Institute looks back on a long history particularly in typographic design, which was influenced by the work of teachers like Emil Ruder, Jan Tschichold, Armin Hoffmann and Wolfgang Weingart. On Friday, January 16th, the academy opens its doors to provide everybody an insight into the diverse courses of studies.

The Vogelsangstrasse 15 in Basel is the home of the Visual Communication Institute. Besides the exhibition of works of current and former students, visitors will get to meet the young future graphic designers there in person – for example at the nice bar on the first floor ;) – to get informations about the academy at first hand. Between 12:00pm and 10:00pm there will continiously be presentations to provide detailled information about the BA and MA degrees.

So, why don't you come by for a look, a chat and a drink before you enjoy the great «Basler Museum Night» - art and party from dusk till dawn?
